The application process for the new initiative of the “Competitiveness” program of the NSRF 2021-2027, “Extroversion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises”, is underway. The action subsidizes, by up to 50%, investment projects that aim to utilize and develop modern technologies, as well as to upgrade the products produced and the services provided.

Indicatively, projects that are financed may have as their objectives:

• Preparation of a business plan to delineate the company's goals.
• Discovery of opportunities in new domestic and/or foreign markets through market research, participation in exhibitions, or organization of trade/business missions.
• Strengthening the company's position in existing foreign markets, mainly through expanding partner networks, developing new products, and interventions in equipment and production processes especially by using digital technologies.
• Promotion of products through branding, establishing a quality certifications for the products produced, or participation in recognized international exhibitions.

The budget of investment projects starts from €80,000 and can reach up to €200,000. For the formation of this budget, eligible categories of expenses include the supply of equipment, services such as certifications, the acquisition of know-how, packaging design, computer software procurement, promotion expenses, as well as salary costs of newly hired personnel.
