Post date: 18-10-2023

Two new initiatives to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have been published by the Greek Ministry of Finance in the context of the "Competitiveness" program of the NSRF 2021-2027.

The first initiative, "Support towards the launch and operation of new small and medium-sized enterprises", with a total budget of €190,000,000, aims to support entrepreneurship in the country, primarily targeting emerging sectors of the economy.

Beneficiaries of this initiative are new or recently established SMEs, as long as they are not operating in the Catering, Retail Trade and Tourism sectors. Among other expenses, the initiative will subsidize investments in facilities, machinery and technological equipment, with a budget between €40,000 and €400,000.

The second initiative, "Support towards the launch and operation of new small and medium-sized tourism enterprises", with a total budget of €160,000,000, aims to encourage the creation of new businesses in tourism, one of the most dynamic sectors of the Greek economy.

Beneficiaries will include new or recently established SMEs in sectors related to tourism*. Among other expenses, the initiative will subsidize investments in facilities, machinery and technological equipment, with a budget between €80,000 and €400,000.

For both initiatives, the program will grant at least 45% of the project’s budget, an amount which might even reach up to 60% of the budget depending on special conditions.
